What is a Bachelor of Wine at INSEEC?
INSEEC’s Bachelor of Wine course prepares you for careers in sales, marketing and management in the wine industry. It is aimed at those who wish to transform their passion for wine into genuine professional expertise.
The programme combines oenology, business strategy and the international dimension to train you in the realities of the sector. You’ll learn to understand markets, master sales and distribution techniques, negotiate with partners and promote wines on French and foreign markets.
Whether you choose to study in Bordeaux, the world capital of wine, or in Beaune, in the heart of wine-growing Burgundy, you’ll benefit from a strong local base and direct links with the players in the sector. The specialisation is also available on the Paris and Lyon campuses.
INSEEC’s Bachelor of Wine is based around three main areas of expertise, covering all the essential skills of the wine sector, from sales and marketing to product development and export. Find out more below.
Wine Trade and Distribution
Developing sales and understanding distribution channels
Sales and distribution are at the heart of the wine industry. This specialisation trains you to devise effective sales strategies, manage a customer portfolio and negotiate with the various players in the market: wine merchants, supermarkets, exporters and restaurateurs.
You will learn how to manage the marketing of products, optimise profitability and develop innovative sales channels, such as e-commerce or direct sales. These skills will give you access to positions as sales manager, account manager or sector manager in wineries and wine merchants.
Wine Marketing and Communication
Promoting products and telling their story
Wine marketing and communications are based on the ability to create a strong identity and promote the terroirs. This specialisation teaches you how to draw up marketing plans, design communications media and build authentic storytelling around wine brands.
You will develop skills in digital marketing, events, press relations and wine tourism promotion. You’ll be able to highlight an estate’s uniqueness, manage its reputation and boost its appeal to consumers and distributors.
Export and International Markets
Promoting French wines abroad
Exports represent a strategic lever for the French wine industry. This specialisation prepares you to identify growth markets, understand international regulations and negotiate with foreign importers and distributors.
You’ll learn how to manage logistics operations, adapt strategies to cultural specificities and manage international expansion projects. This course opens the door to careers such as export manager, international business developer or zone manager for wineries, wine merchants or major groups in the sector.
