Manon talks about her studies and her job as Community Manager

Introduce yourself
First of all, my name is Manon MAZZEGA, I’m 20 years old and I’m just finishing my first year on the INSEEC Grande Ecole Programme at the Lyon campus.
Before that, I did a DUT in Business and Administration Management in Grenoble.
Apart from the academic aspect, I’ve always been passionate about sport (especially basketball, which I’ve been playing competitively for 13 years now). My ambition is to work in the field of sports events or at least sport business in general.
Nearly three years ago I also discovered the world of voluntary work, which I enjoy immensely.
Why did you choose INSEEC Grande École?
First of all, there’s the international dimension, with its partner universities and campuses abroad. There are many ways of gaining one or more highly enriching experiences, not only to improve your knowledge of the language, but also to get out of your comfort zone! And knowing how to adapt is, I think, a real plus, which is also valued in the professional world.
The professional dimension of INSEEC Grande École is also one of the criteria that attracted me. By professional, I mean the opportunity (and obligation) to do an internship at the end of the first year and thus gain experience, but also the possibility of starting the course as a sandwich course from the first year of the Master’s degree.

What do you get out of school?
In concrete terms, INSEEC GE provides me with the teaching I need to succeed in my professional project, taught by interested and interesting professors such as marketing, geopolitics and economic, political and social analysis (not to mention everything!). I’m thinking in particular of the seminars we took part in, which I found to be very well done and relevant (integration, psychology and negotiation, and transition week), with practical cases supervised by professionals that were very concrete.
Support from the school for your career plans?
The teachers and the headmaster, Mr Guallino, were very attentive to my career plans, and gave very good advice and were open to discussion.
In particular, they enabled me to experience the exceptional adventure that was the Courchevel-Méribel Alpine World Ski Championships as a volunteer (in exchange for following/catching up on distance learning courses, of course).

Could you tell us about your placement?
So I’ve signed up as a team member for the Courchevel-Méribel 2023 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. Fifteen exceptional days of competition between the best skiers in the world, fifteen days of emotion, fifteen days of learning.
So I was part of the communications team. To put it simply, my job was to relay the event on social networks in an authentic and creative way to those who weren’t lucky enough to be there.
We worked as a team, under the watchful eye of the rigorous and creative Faustine TETAZ and Grégoire STROHL, who gave us the best possible support so that we could become more autonomous every day, while maintaining a very high quality of content.
This experience has only confirmed my ambition to pursue my career plan in the sports events industry. In particular, I was able to discover aspects of the industry that I was less familiar with, which aroused my curiosity and which I can’t wait to find out more about (as part of an internship or work-study programme)!
