International from L3

I’ve just returned from my 2-month experience on the London campus of the OMNES Education group, and I’m delighted to be able to talk about my international experience.

Before coming to INSEEC Grande Ecole, I did a DUT in Marketing Techniques in Villeurbanne, which I unfortunately did mainly remotely because of Covid. As a result, I developed a very strong desire to move around and travel… That’s why I decided to enrol on a course that offered a foreign experience from L3 onwards. Thanks to INSEEC Grande Ecole, I had the opportunity to fulfil my dreams by gaining my first short-term international experience in an exceptional environment.

This 2-month intensive course in London was very enriching for me in every way. First of all, the 100% English lessons with English-speaking teachers enabled me to discover a new way of working, where the teacher and student are closer together, making the lessons all the more interactive. My level of English has obviously improved, but above all I’ve gained confidence in expressing myself in a foreign language.

But my experience in London wasn’t just limited to the course on campus! London is above all an ultra-cosmopolitan city, where you can meet new people and discover new things at every street corner. Free access to all the national museums gives you privileged access to culture, with must-sees like Tate Modern and Tate Britain, the National Gallery… London’s architecture is so distinctive, and the Tube takes you on a unique and sensational journey (believe me, my ears and head remember it…).

First of all, we were delighted to meet up with students from the Bordeaux and Paris campuses, with whom we were able to forge links that would not have been possible without this experience in London. But I was also lucky enough to live with an exceptionally welcoming lady. Through my many outings, I’ve also been able to meet people from many different backgrounds, from Australia, Indonesia, the United States, Bulgaria and the 4 corners of the U.K. (Suffice to say that our French accent is much appreciated and helps us a lot).

Lastly, I will always remember the city and the many opportunities it offered me for opening up to the world, which has encouraged me to opt for a full English track Initial course next year for my M1, in order to continue improving my English and to have another opportunity, a little longer this time, to go abroad…

To be continued…
