Why join an association when you’re a student?
Community involvement is an integral part of student life. It is much more than just a leisure activity: it is a genuine opportunity for personal and professional development. At INSEEC, student associations play a key role in providing students with enriching and formative experiences.

Future
A springboard to the professional world
Student associations enable students to develop essential skills that prepare them for their future careers:
- Project management: organising events, managing budgets and coordinating a team.
- Taking responsibility: learning to meet deadlines and achieve targets.
- Communication and leadership: improving oral fluency, working in a team and motivating a group.
- Technical skills: finance, marketing, management, logistics, depending on the association’s field.
Involvement in an association can also enhance your CV and help you stand out on the job market. Recruiters appreciate committed candidates who are capable of managing practical projects and working as part of a team.
Because studying at INSEEC means giving yourself the means to acquire both know-how and interpersonal skills, community life is proving to be a formidable “professional particle accelerator”!
Adventure
A human and enriching experience
Being part of an association is above all a human adventure. It’s an opportunity to :
- Create strong links with other students who share the same interests.
- Develop a spirit of solidarity and mutual aid.
- Learn to manage conflict situations and make collective decisions.
The associations are also a way of opening up to diversity and discovering other cultures, particularly through international events, exchanges and collaborations.
Human
A commitment to society
Some student associations have a humanitarian and solidarity dimension. They offer the opportunity to get involved in social and environmental causes:
- Organising fund-raising events for NGOs.
- Raising awareness of ecological issues.
- Help for students in difficulty and a commitment to inclusion.
This commitment is a way of giving meaning to your studies and contributing to important causes while acquiring skills that are transferable to the world of work.
Council
A key stage in a student’s career
Joining an association allows you to get away from the academic environment and experience real-life situations, often close to the world of business. It’s an ideal transition between studies and professional life, allowing you to put your aspirations into practice.
INSEEC encourages its students to get involved in community life, because it is a career accelerator and a lever for personal development. Thanks to the associations, students develop their autonomy, learn to organise themselves and gain self-confidence.

How do you choose your student association?
There are many different types of association, each with its own specific characteristics. Here are a few criteria to help you make the right choice:
- Identify your areas of interest (sport, culture, entrepreneurship, humanitarian work, events, etc.).
- Define how much time you want to devote to it.
- Find out about the association’s missions and projects.
- Attend student forums and open days to meet members.
The most common associations on our campuses are the BDE, BDS, CSR, humanitarian, eloquence, arts and inclusion associations.
Whatever the field, the most important thing is to commit yourself with motivation and enthusiasm to make the most of the experience.
Joining a student association is a real asset to your academic and professional career. It’s a unique opportunity to learn, share and grow while developing essential skills for the future. Whether for pleasure, experience or commitment, joining a student association is a formative adventure that leaves a lasting mark on a student’s life.
So, are you ready to take the plunge and join an association?
