What is a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Insurance?
INSEEC’s Bachelor Banque Assurance, certified RNCP level 6 by the Ministry of Employment, prepares students for careers in banking, insurance and wealth management. The 1ʳᵉ and 2ᵉ years provide a solid grounding in finance and accounting, while the 3ᵉ year enables students to specialise in financial products, banking marketing and insurance techniques. This programme makes students immediately operational thanks to practical training geared towards customer advice and portfolio management.
Professional certification
Level 6 (EU) professional certification for Financial Management Managers, NSF code(s) 313/314, awarded by the INSEEC Bachelor, registered under number 39875 on the RNCP (Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles) by decision of the Director General of France Compétences.
Objectives and skills
The aim of the Bachelor’s in Banking and Insurance is to train professionals capable of assisting private and business customers with their financial and wealth management projects.

1ʳᵉ year
60 ECTS credits
In the first year, INSEEC’s Bachelor in Banking and Insurance offers generalist training combining management, accounting, law, marketing, languages and digital skills to lay the foundations of management and finance. In addition to the core courses, students will have 20% of specialisation courses.

2ᵉ year

In the second year, INSEEC’s Bachelor in Banking and Insurance develops skills in financial management and customer relations, while integrating analysis and management tools to prepare students for commercial careers in banking and insurance. In addition to the core courses, students will have 30% of specialisation courses.

Assessment procedures
The three years of the programme alternate periods of theoretical learning and real-life application, enabling students to relate their knowledge to real-life situations.
Each semester is validated by the award of 30 ECTS credits. Progression through the Bachelor’s programme is achieved by validating each semester one after the other, i.e. 180 ECTS credits acquired at the end of the three years of the programme.
In addition to the lectures and visits, each module is regularly assessed, either in writing or orally, individually or in groups, throughout the course.
In the third and final year of the INSEEC Bachelor programme, an assessment leading to certification is organised for each block of skills, as close as possible to the professional situation (case study, professional simulation, portfolio, oral presentation, professional practice dissertation, etc.).
Assessment takes place face-to-face, in the form of continuous assessment or final exams in the form of mid-term exams.

Yes, the Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Insurance awards a level 6 RNCP n°39875 “Financial Management Manager” title (equivalent to Bac+3), a diploma recognised and certified by the Ministry of Employment and registered on the Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles by decision of France Compétences.
This professional certification attests to the quality of the training and skills acquired in the field of banking and insurance. The qualification is awarded by INSEEC Bachelor after validation of the skill blocks and a minimum of 110 effective days in a company. This recognition makes it easier for you to find a job and also allows you to continue your studies in Master of Science (MSc) or Master’s Degree (Grande École Programme) if you so wish.
Which partner companies recruit students from this programme?
The Bachelor Bank Insurance benefits from a network of more than 10,000 partner companies, including the main players in the French financial sector. The major banking groups (BNP Paribas, Société Générale, Crédit Agricole, La Banque Postale), mutual insurance companies (Groupama, MAIF, MACIF), insurance companies (AXA, Allianz, Generali) and asset management firms regularly recruit our students for work placements or work-study contracts.
Online banks and neo-banks (Boursorama, Fortuneo) are also looking for profiles trained in digital techniques. The Corporate Relations Department organises job dating events specific to the banking and insurance sector to help you get in touch with these recruiters.
Are there any internship or work-study opportunities during the Bachelor Bank Insurance?
Yes, the programme includes compulsory periods in a company from the first year. The 3ᵉ year can be done on a sandwich course via an apprenticeship or professionalisation contract, with a 3-day/2-day pattern for six months followed by six months full-time in the company.
The school supports you in your search via the Match’Up platform, which lists over 20,000 internship and work-study offers, weekly coaching workshops and monthly job dating events. A minimum of 110 effective days in a company is required in the final year to validate your RNCP qualification.

The skills you learn in your Bachelor’s degree will help you gain direct admission to these programmes. Continuing your studies is optional, as most of our graduates opt for immediate professional integration, which is very dynamic in the sector.

The Corporate Relations & Alumni Department provides specific support in your search for an internship or work-study contract through weekly coaching workshops (CV, interview, pitch, LinkedIn), monthly job dating with partner companies in the banking sector, and access to the Match’Up platform. Business conferences are held regularly to help you refine your career plans and master the codes of the financial sector.
How do I apply for the Bank Insurance Bachelor’s degree?
The admission process takes place OFF PARCOURSUP in several transparent stages. First, you submit your application online on the INSEEC website, together with your school reports and CV. Your application will be examined to assess your academic record since the baccalaureate and your motivation for the banking and insurance professions.
If your profile matches, you will sit the admission tests.
- For entry to years 1 and 2, you will be invited to a written test, followed by a motivational interview.
- For entry into 3rd year, there is no written test, but a motivational interview with a panel of judges. The panel will assess your career plans and your ability to develop in a commercial environment.
Eligibility results are communicated rapidly. Once you have been admitted, the school will help you find a work-linked training placement. Depending on your year of entry, admissions are offered on an initial or sandwich course basis.
What financial products do you learn to market during the Bank Insurance Bachelor’s course?
The Bank Insurance Bachelor’s degree trains you to market a wide range of financial products for individuals and professionals. You will learn to master savings products, loans, means of payment and banking services, insurance products and investment solutions.
You will also learn about wealth management, tax optimisation and inheritance planning. The banking and insurance marketing courses, combined with the technical skills blocks, will prepare you to advise your future customers effectively on all these financial solutions according to their risk profile.
How do you manage customer relations in the banking and insurance sector?
The digitalisation of customer relations is at the heart of the course. You will develop the technical skills needed to master the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools, digital banking platforms and mobile applications used in the sector. What career options are there after a few years’ experience?
After a few years’ experience as a Customer Officer or Banking Adviser, there are a number of career paths available in the sector. You could become a branch manager, sales team manager or wealth management adviser for high-end customers.
The blocks of skills acquired will also enable you to move into support roles such as Credit Risk Analyst, Regulatory Compliance Manager, Banking Marketing Officer or Internal Trainer.
It is still possible to go back to school during your career (MSc, Grande Ecole programme) to take up management positions. This is often possible within large banking and insurance groups, which value internal career paths and offer continuing education.
