What is an MSc in Digital Marketing & E-Commerce?
The MSc Digital Marketing & E-Commerce trains students for careers in online marketing, digital strategy and e-commerce. It is RNCP level 7 certified by the French Ministry of Employment. The first year lays the foundations in digital communication, data marketing and web project management. The second year develops expertise in e-commerce strategy, SEO/SEA and digital campaign management. This professionally-oriented programme prepares students to manage digital projects and optimise companies’ online performance.
Professional certification
Level 7 (EU) professional certification in Communication and Digital Marketing Management, NSF code(s) 312, awarded by INSEEC MSc, registered under number 39592 in the RNCP (Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles) by decision of the Director General of France Compétences.
Objectives and skills
The aim of the MSc Digital Marketing & E-Commerce is to train professionals capable of managing an organisation’s overall digital strategy. You will learn to manage e-commerce projects, optimise search engine optimisation and analyse the performance of digital campaigns to maximise online growth.
The programme develops the following key skills:
- Designing a digital marketing and communications strategy in line with the company’s overall strategy.
- Manage digital marketing campaigns.
- Designing and deploying a digital communications policy.
- Managing digital projects in agile mode and managing teams.
In addition to these common blocks of skills, there is the following optional sectoral block:
- Coordinating and deploying the e-commerce strategy.
The courses
The courses presented below are given as examples and may vary slightly depending on the teaching campus. Course content is adapted each year to take account of developments in digital technology, new platforms and technological innovations.
The pace of courses may differ from campus to campus and depending on whether the course is being run under a work placement agreement (initial) or a professionalization/apprenticeship contract (continuing).
The work-study contract must be signed for a period of 12 months (MSc 2) or 24 months (MSc1 + MSc 2).
1ʳᵉ year – Cross-disciplinary and foundation courses

Assessment procedures
The two years of the programme combine advanced technical learning and operational application, offered as part of initial or sandwich training.
Course validation
- Successful completion of each year requires 60 ECTS credits.
- The MSc title is validated by successive completion of the two years, representing a total of 120 ECTS credits.
- The awarding of certification presupposes that all blocks of skills have been fully capitalised.
- Each block must be fully validated with a minimum of 10/20 for all the skills concerned.
- Partial validation of a block is not possible.
Conditions for obtaining certification
- Mandatory confirmation of four blocks of cross-disciplinary skills shared by all courses.
- Professional immersion of at least 132 days in the second year (MSc 2) for students enrolled in initial training.
Assessment procedures
Your progress in skills is constantly measured throughout the course via :
- Ongoing checks and summary tests organised face-to-face.
- Analysis of digital situations carried out solo and/or in teams.
- Personal and/or group oral presentations.
- Individual and/or collective written creations.
- Digital challenges and professional presentations.
- An applied research dissertation on a digital marketing or e-commerce issue, presented to a jury of professionals and academics (in the second year).
