Goals of the RNCP
What are the goals
of this title?
The Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager designs and steers the purchasing and supply chain strategy (purchasing, procurement, production, logistics) for the design and delivery of the company’s goods to the end customer. He also supervises stocks and warehouses.
Given the very nature of its business, CSR issues are an integral part of its purchasing strategy (choice of suppliers and products) and supply chain strategy (consideration of the impact of modes of transport, etc.).
Depending on the size and organisation of the company, and in a context where there is a trend towards hybridisation of certain professions, professionals may hold the position of Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager, in the broad sense of steering all processes (purchasing, supply, production, logistics), or the positions of Purchasing Manager, Buyer (at the start of their career) or Supply Chain Manager.
In response to business needs
The “ Purchasing and Supply Chain Expert” must enable the company to become more efficient, more profitable and, ultimately, more competitive. Optimising lead times and controlling the supply chain will ensure the satisfaction of customers who are increasingly demanding in terms of monitoring and delivery times.
Holders of the certification should be able to use their skills to adapt to the new challenges facing the sector: managing economic and climate risks, relocation (reorganising the supply chain), integrating CSR elements into purchasing and logistics policies, digitalising the supply chain, etc.
