Last Thursday, INSEEC Bachelor students organised a Clean Walk around the campus as part of their “Event Goals” project. The aim of this initiative is to carry out a clean-up action in a public place, be it a town, a park, a public garden, a beach or a forest. The event provides an opportunity to take collective action while raising awareness of the problem of waste and global warming.

The primary aim was to raise students’ awareness of pollution and global warming by doing our bit to help protect the environment.
Equipped with tongs, gloves and bin bags, 37 students took part in the Clean Walk, a litter-picking outing designed to raise awareness of the issue. To make the experience even more engaging, the organising team introduced photo challenges and a prize for the team that collected the most cigarette butts and rubbish.
In the end, more than 1,500 cigarette butts were collected, saving 750,000 litres of water from pollution and 50 kg of waste, which included various objects such as bottles, packaging and plastic toys, as well as unusual items such as nappies and nitrous oxide cylinders.
Much more than just a series of ecological gestures, these actions are truly formative experiences, enabling our students to enrich their lives:
Aurèle, Bachelor 1 student: “Taking part in organising this project has been rewarding. Seeing the community come together to make our environment cleaner has created a sense of unity and collective responsibility. The feedback from the street showed us that our event has an impact on everyone’s lives.
Nathan, Bachelor 1 student: “Participating in and organising this project has opened my eyes to the importance of acting locally to bring about meaningful change in our community. The positive feedback we’re getting in the street is a validation of the power of collective action and solidarity between fellow students to create a real impact.”
A big well done and THANK YOU to all those who took part in the Clean Walk, with a special mention to the student organisers: Arhab Alici, Ruellet Nathan, Kane Sada, Ossono Cassandra, Hamrani Tassadit Sandrine, Boudjemaa Sam, Meluse Gauthier, Nguyen Tran Binh Minh, Kribi Abdulmalik, Foucher-Rouillon Aurèle, Dia Moussa Aly, Kacimi Liza, who hope to organise another event soon!
