The Business Development Bachelor’s degree: everything you need to know about setting up and running a business

Joining the Bachelor Business Development program enables you to develop your skills in sales techniques and your ability to undertake and innovate. It’s also an all-encompassing program, since it covers all aspects of business.

Students will also discover the retail and distribution concepts that enable them to manage and run a sales outlet, whether franchised or not, as well as select and motivate a team.

It is also designed to enable any manager wishing to progress within a chain to master the tools and methods needed to lead and develop a distribution network. In this way, you can one day embark on a sales development or entrepreneurial adventure.

A 1, 2 or 3-year diploma course for business development and start-ups

Holders of a BAC can enter the Bachelor 1st year, holders of a BAC+1 the Bachelor 2nd year, and those with a BAC+2 the Bachelor 3rd year.

The Bachelor’s program welcomes students from a variety of backgrounds: BTS, RNCP level 5 qualifications, DUT, preparatory classes, Licence 2.

The Bachelor Business Development program trains students to understand and grasp the mechanisms involved in setting up a business, the causes of failure and the conditions for success. Students will be able to understand the usefulness and methodology of drawing up a business plan, learn about the processes and stages involved in taking over a company, and prepare for the creation of their own Start Up in the short term.

The 3rd year program can be completed on a sandwich basis. It provides the foundations needed to monitor and analyze data related to one’s activity, draw up an overall assessment of actions and make recommendations for adjustments.

This module enables you to define long-term objectives and allocate resources to achieve them. Corporate strategy aims to position the business competitively in its market, while optimizing its performance. This includes decisions on products, markets, resources and internal organization.

Team management

Team management involves organizing, leading and motivating a group of people to achieve common goals. It involves allocating tasks, managing interpersonal relations and developing individual skills. The manager ensures the team’s cohesion and collective performance.

Budget management

Indispensable in any business sector, budget management involves planning, allocating and controlling an organization’s financial resources. It aims to balance income and expenditure, while optimizing the use of funds to achieve financial objectives.

Specialization courses


Company law

Corporate law governs the creation, management and dissolution of companies, as well as the rights and obligations of shareholders and directors. This module covers the different legal forms of companies, corporate governance and regulatory aspects to ensure compliance and the protection of stakeholders’ interests.

Business intelligence

Business intelligence involves monitoring and analyzing key information in order to anticipate market trends and boost a company’s competitiveness. This module covers data collection techniques, strategic analysis and the use of business intelligence to make informed decisions and secure competitive advantages.

Prospecting & Loyalty

Prospecting and loyalty encompass strategies for attracting new customers while strengthening the loyalty of existing ones. This module explores prospect research techniques, customer engagement and follow-up actions to maximize sales and ensure lasting customer relationships.

Web Marketing

Webmarketing for start-ups involves using digital strategies to promote and publicize a new business. This module covers social network optimization, SEO, content marketing and online advertising campaigns to attract customers and drive growth in a competitive environment.

Account management

Account Management is about developing and maintaining strong relationships with key customers to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty. This module covers understanding customer needs, effective communication and sales strategy to maximize growth opportunities and strengthen long-term partnerships.

CRM & Data analysis

The “CRM & Data Analysis” subject explores customer relationship management strategies through the use of technological tools and the exploitation of data. It enables you to optimize customer engagement and make informed decisions thanks to in-depth analysis of the information collected.

Project management

Project management in a start-up involves planning, executing and monitoring innovative projects in a dynamic environment. This module covers agile methodologies, resource management, risk assessment and collaboration techniques to ensure project success and adaptability to market challenges.

Growth Hacking

Growth hacking is a marketing approach focused on rapid experimentation and innovation to stimulate business growth with limited resources. This module explores unconventional techniques, data analysis and the use of digital channels to identify opportunities for rapid and effective growth.

Project financing

Project financing involves mobilizing financial resources to support the development and realization of specific initiatives. This module covers the different sources of funding, such as investors, grants and loans, as well as strategies for evaluating projects to ensure their viability and profitability.

The INSEEC Bachelor offers 1 or 2 start dates per year, with the option of either a traditional study program or a sandwich course.

Each year, the start of the 3rd year Bachelors program takes place in September. Some campuses also offer a staggered start in February.

The course schedule is 3 days/2 days for 6 months, followed by 6 months of full-time work experience.This rhythm may vary depending on the campus chosen.

This rhythm is the same whether the learner is in initial training (internship) or continuing education (professionalization/apprenticeship).

What are the prerequisites for the Bachelor Business Development program?

  • To enter the first year, you must hold a baccalauréat (all sections) or a Diplôme d’Accès aux Études Universitaires (DAEU), recognized as level 4;
  • For entry into the second year: you must have completed 60 ECTS in a sector considered to be identical in terms of skills to that of the course or have completed 120 ECTS in a management science environment;
  • For entry into the third year, you need to have passed a 120 ECTS or a level 5 in a sector considered to be identical in terms of skills to that of the course, or to have passed 180 ECTS in a management science environment.

What professional skills are developed with the Bachelor Business Development?

The objectives in terms of skills are to be able to :

  • Implement marketing strategy;
  • Block 1 – Participate in drawing up a business development strategy
  • Block 2 – Implement and manage an omnichannel sales development plan
  • Block 3 – Define and manage the budgetary elements of the sales action plan
  • Block 4 – Manage and develop sales team activities
  • Block 5 – Professionalization – Designing and implementing sales initiatives for start-ups

The ” Responsable d’activités commerciales” professional certification, level 6 (EU), code NSF 312, is awarded by the INSEEC Bachelor (CEE-RA, CEE-Ouest, CEFAS, MBA INSTITUTE, CEE-SO) and registered under number 38604 in the RNCP (Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles) by decision of France Compétences dated 09/02/2024.

This certification is accessible via VAE.

Validation of certification is obtained by capitalizing on four blocks of skills common to all courses, plus a professionalization block depending on the candidate’s course.

How does the INSEEC Bachelor program work?

Teaching methods

  • Lectures and interactive courses
  • Role-playing through group or individual case studies carried out by students
  • Educational conferences, seminars and tours

Evaluation methods

The 3-year program alternates between concept acquisition and practical application.

Each semester is validated by 30 ECTS credits. Progression through the Bachelor’s program is achieved by validating each semester one after the other, i.e. 180 ECTS credits acquired at the end of the 3-year program.

With the exception of lectures and visits, each module is subject to continuous assessment, either summative or formative, written or oral, individual or collective.

In the third and final year of the INSEEC Bachelor’s program, a skills-based assessment is organized that is as close as possible to the professional situation (case study, professional simulation, portfolio, oral presentation, professional practice dissertation, etc.).

The procedures for obtaining certification are described in the previous paragraph.

  • Assessment is carried out face-to-face, in the form of continuous assessment or final exams in the form of mid-term exams.

What are the tuition fees for the Bachelor Business Development?

Tuition fees for the Bachelor Business Development program depend on the type of training you choose: initial training or sandwich course.

Initial training :

  • 1st year Bachelor’s degree: €9,150
  • 2nd year Bachelor’s degree: €9,650
  • 3rd year Bachelor’s degree: €9,990

Work-linked training :

  • 3rd year Bachelor’s degree: €10,450

For the February-March 2025 school year:

  • Bachelor 1st year: €8,950
  • 3rd-year Bachelor’s degree (initial training): €9,650
  • 3rd-year Bachelor’s degree (sandwich course): €9,900

Entrance fees for the Bachelor program are €70 for all our campuses.

VAE/VAP :

VAE: €3,800 net of tax

VAP: €850 EXCL.

International Student Pack: Compulsory fee of 750 euros for exclusive support services for international students.

The length of the INSEEC Bachelor program varies depending on the year you enter the school:

  • For entry into 1st year, the course lasts 36 months;
  • For entry into the 2nd year, the course lasts 24 months;
  • For entry into 3rd year, the course lasts 11 to 12 months.
