What is a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Management and Leadership?
INSEEC’s Grande École programme, specialising in Entrepreneurship, Management and Leadership, prepares you for careers in business creation, team management and strategic management. This course confers a Master’s degree (equivalent to Bac+5) recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and is RNCP level 7 certified. The course enables you to develop your entrepreneurial and managerial skills. It will ensure that you are highly employable, whether you opt for entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship within a company.
Diploma and professional certification
This state-approved degree confers Master’s status and has been AMBA accredited since 2016, guaranteeing its recognition in France and internationally. Professional certification as an Innovative Projects Manager level 7 (EU), NSF code 310, awarded by INSEEC Grande École, registered under number 41044 on the RNCP (Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles) by decision of the Director General of France Compétences.
Objectives and skills
The aim of the Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Management and Leadership is to train entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs capable of designing innovative projects, uniting teams and managing the growth of organisations.

The content
The courses presented below are taught on the Paris, Lyon and Bordeaux campuses. The French-language programme evolves each year to reflect trends in the entrepreneurial ecosystem and managerial innovations.
1ʳᵉ year (Level L3)
60 ECTS credits – 488 hours
This foundation year develops your entrepreneurial spirit and your understanding of today’s major challenges. Students, all on sandwich courses, benefit from a week’s immersion in London at the beginning of the course.

2ᵉ year (M1 level)
60 ECTS credits – 436 hours
The second year of the work-study programme strengthens your managerial autonomy and prepares you to lead projects with a strong entrepreneurial impact.

60 ECTS credits – 406 hours
The core curriculum develops your innovation, research and strategic management skills in entrepreneurial environments. This final year of the PGE is a sandwich course.

Assessment procedures
Assessment is based on a variety of methods to validate your theoretical and operational entrepreneurial skills:

Certification is based on validation of all the skill blocks and obtaining the 180 ECTS credits in the three-year programme.

What are the admission requirements for the Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Management and Leadership?
Admission to 1st year (Level L3)
- Accessible to students holding or in the process of obtaining a BUT, BTS, Licence 2, RNCP level 5 certified qualification (Bac +2), or enrolled in 2ᵉ year of IEP.
- Admission via the Evolution 1 competitive entrance examination (application + oral tests).
- Training given in French.
Admission to 2nd year (M1 level)
- Open to students who have completed or are in the process of completing a Licence 3, Bachelor’s degree, Master 1, engineering degree or level 6/7 RNCP-certified qualification attesting to at least 3 years of higher education.
- Admission via the Evolution 2 competitive entrance examination (application + oral tests).
- Training given in French.

Is it possible to do work-study during the INSEEC Entrepreneurship, Management and Leadership Master’s Degree?
Yes, work-study is possible over the 3 years of the programme. In fact, it’s the only option on offer for this INSEEC programme. This option gives you the chance to develop your entrepreneurial project at the same time or to join a start-up to gain practical experience in the innovation ecosystem, with a professionally supervised work placement.
Which languages are used for courses and exams?
INSEEC’s Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Management and Leadership is taught in French. However, fluency in English is highly recommended in order to interact with the international entrepreneurial ecosystem, consult technical resources in English and develop your network on a global scale.
How long does an INSEEC Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Management and Leadership last?
The Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Management and Leadership takes place over 3 years (L3 + M1 + M2) for entry after a Bac +2, or over 2 years (M1 + M2) for entry after a Bac +3/4. This will enable you to validate 180 ECTS credits and acquire comprehensive expertise in entrepreneurship and innovation.
Do I need to already have an entrepreneurial project to join this programme?
No, you don’t need to already have a defined entrepreneurial project to join the programme. You can join the programme simply because you want to be an entrepreneur. The courses, business games and educational activities will help you to identify opportunities, structure your idea and turn it into a viable project throughout the course.
How does this programme differ from a Masters in Entrepreneurship at a university?
The INSEEC Master’s degree differs from a university Master’s in Entrepreneurship in its immediate operational approach. You benefit from a network of 10,000 partner companies, support from working entrepreneurs, work-study opportunities over 3 years and access to incubators.
The presentation of the programme integrates business law, financial management, economic analysis and practical management to train directly operational entrepreneurial executives.
Can I set up my own business during my Masters?
Yes, the programme encourages you to set up your own business during your studies. INSEEC has an incubator (La Fabrik) and can help you launch your project: assistance with legal and financial arrangements, contacts with investors, access to coworking spaces and mentoring by experienced entrepreneurs. Many students launch their start-up during their training.
