Projet tutoré Management & Marketing du Sport

For the fourth year running, our MSc 1 INSEEC Sport Management students from our four campuses (Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon and Chambéry) have been working on a sports crowdfunding campaign in collaboration with I Believe in You, the leader in the field, as part of their ‘Sport Business Strategies’ course. Last year, over €107,000 was donated to French sport. Will this year’s record be broken?

This is the fourth year of the tutored project, but the second year in partnership with I Believe in You. Building on the success of the first edition, which was very much appreciated by the students, Julian DUPRAZ wanted to forge closer links with the sports platform once again to offer a tailor-made tutorial project exclusively to students on the Masters of Science Sport programmes.

There’s nothing like immediately applying the skills you’ve learned in class… directly in the field! This is the aim of the tutored project that we have been running since the fourth year with our 1st year MSc Sports Management & Marketing students.

In partnership with I Believe in You, our students will spend a year helping a sportsperson, club, event or any other sports-related activity to find funding, as well as developing its digital strategy and press relations. “The idea is for our students to be able to use their Sports Marketing, Sports Events and Digital Marketing courses as part of this project in order to bring it to a successful conclusion. It’s a real highlight of our programmes, with a challenge for all the campuses. In the end, they present their project orally in front of the platform’s directors and the best group (not just in terms of budget obtained) gets a full page in Sport Stratégies, the bible of sports marketing”, explains Julian DUPRAZ, Director of the Sport programmes at the INSEEC Bachelor and MSc.

A real focus on disability

In all, 78 groups from our four towns took part in this crowdfunding campaign. This year, the choice of projects to support was particularly focused. “This year, our students chose to adopt a truly CSR approach. Nearly 40% of the projects are disability-related, and that’s something we really value,” continues Julian DUPRAZ. And, like every year, this project has had a resounding echo within our Sports Management and Marketing programme: “Our project has just come to an end. It’s with a lot of positive emotions that we write this message. We’re delighted to have had the opportunity to work on a project like this and to have been able to provide Selam with the funds it needed to achieve its goal,” says Marine Bordas, an MSc 1 Sport Management student on our Lyon campus. Let’s face it, with this tutored project, our students are double winners!
