What is a Master of Science in Communication?
The Master of Science, also abbreviated MSc, in communication is an international degree that is recognised in English-speaking countries and has been firmly established in France for several years now. It is awarded by communication and business schools. The Master of Science is equivalent to 5 years’ higher education, but differs from a traditional master’s degree in that the latter awards a university diploma and the MSc is awarded by the same university.
Although it is not recognised in France, the Master of Science in Communication offers numerous career opportunities both nationally and internationally thanks to the network of lecturers and companies involved in this type of training. It should be noted that this type of degree is a form of specialisation in a particular field, thanks to a course lasting several months:
- 10 months, if you have already completed the first year of a Master’s degree ;
- 15 months, if you have 3 years’ higher education.
Depending on the school you choose, you can choose between initial training and a sandwich course. In the first case, your studies will be punctuated by a 4 to 6 month work placement.

Explanations
What is the difference between advertising and digital communication?
Advertising and digital communication are both aimed at promoting a brand or product. They differ in the tools they use. Advertising communication uses collective media to reach a global audience. In other words, it is aimed at a wide audience, with no specific target. To do this, brands use media (television, cinema and radio) and non-media media such as posters.
Digital communication is a form of digital communication, which means that it uses digital tools. Social networks are one of the preferred channels for disseminating a message, whether in text, image or even video form. These can be supplemented by other communication media such as blogs and email. It should be noted that digital communication is aimed at a more restricted audience, i.e. the community that follows the brand.
