An asset manager is responsible for financial investments. Their role is to supervise the investment and optimisation of an individual’s or company’s financial resources. They may be self-employed, work for a financial institution or a company.

Enjoy a certain amount of freedom as a property trader, while being strategic and attentive to important details.

Set up your own business (first mission to get you started).

Choose the right legal status: SARL, EURL or SCI, depending on your activities and the assets to be developed.

Be meticulous when prospecting for the properties most likely to generate profits.

Enhance the value of the properties selected, which represents an additional investment.

Resell the goods with their added value.

The first great advantage of being a property trader is that it gives you a great deal of freedom. You choose when and how to act, at your own pace. That’s the whole point of owning your own business and being your own boss.

The second advantage of being an estate agent is that you take your own risks. You choose the type of property you want to invest in, and therefore the scope of your activities. If you think the job is too risky, you can also look at the other opportunities in the salaried property sector.

As an entrepreneur, your salary depends on the scale and success of your activities. It also varies according to how much you invest. It’s worth remembering that you can become a property trader by investing as little as €1 or as much as €1,000. Your “salary” is then obtained by subtracting the sum of your investment from the amount at which you sold the property.

As for the frequency of your “payment”, this depends entirely on your motivation to generate sales, but also on the extent of your network. Your network is built up over time and with experience, and its development depends on your efficiency.

If you’re wondering what you need to study to become a property trader, you’ll find that practically anyone can become one. All you need is a start-up fund. In practice, however, viability depends very much on your qualities and skills. That’s why it’s important to get some training before you start.

At Inseec, for example, we prepare you to become an entrepreneur and a property trader through specially designed programmes. All you have to do is choose a specialisation based on your field of activity. Among others, you can opt for Finance, Real Estate, Marketing, Business or even International.
