Shop manager: salary and career development
The factors determining a shop manager’s annual salary are his or her experience and the shop’s activities. For a shop specialising in food distribution, the salary is :
- 30,000 to €40,000 as a beginner ;
- 40,000 to €60,000 with 2 to 5 years’ experience ;
- more than €60,000 from 5 years’ experience.
In other shops, the salary varies from :
- 26,0000 to €30,000 as a beginner ;
- 30,000 to €36,000 with 2 to 5 years’ experience ;
- 36,000 to €50,000 from 5 years’ experience.
After working as a shop manager, you can go on to become the subsidiary’s regional or international sales manager. You can also progress internally as a marketing or merchandising manager.
