A marketing product manager has a wide range of tasks. However, here are the main roles that they must play as part of their work within the company:
Competitive intelligence: The marketing product manager must constantly keep abreast of new market trends and the new needs and expectations of consumers.
Production or renovation of products and/or services: After carrying out in-depth market research with his or her colleagues, the Product Marketing Manager begins to create new products. The aim is to bring them into line with new consumer expectations. It is also their duty to update old offers if they feel it is worthwhile doing so.
Monitoring sales strategies: Once new products have been launched, the Product Marketing Manager must monitor their progress on the market. They must also ensure that the strategies employed by sales staff are correct and appropriate.
Reporting: It is essential that the marketing product manager reports to his or her line managers, in order to determine whether the investment is profitable.
