Pierre Duprat, director of major events and event production at Olympique Lyonnais, and project manager for OL Vallée Aréna, opens the doors of the Groupama Stadium and his job. He joined the INSEEC teaching teams and in particular the MSc in Paris.

After obtaining a Baccalauréat ES, Pierre Duprat then ” integrated a preparatory class for business schools in Clermont-Ferrand before continuing at the management school of Normandy where I did my Master 2. “To conclude his training, he obtained the diploma of ” Stadium Manager in continuous training at Olympique Lyonnais.

Immersed in sports since his Master 1, he did his work-study ” within the CSBJ Rugby in TOP 14 ” with missions of ” team manager: travel of the professional team, management of the match sheets in particular.“Unfortunately, this first experience lasted only one year: ” Due to financial problems, the club found itself in great difficulty and I had to look for a new contract. It was Olympique Lyonnais who offered me a hand and since then I have never left this magnificent club.

From the green rectangle to the Coldplay concert

Since then, Pierre has risen through the ranks and is now ” at the head of a team of 18 people who manage events at Groupama Stadium, with a seminar, logistics, audiovisual and major events division. He also has a role in the sporting side of the club: ” I am the UEFA contact for the Champions League or Europa League matches of OL. So I manage the relations with the opposing club and with UEFA for these big European matches.

Actor of the shadows, two events remained anchored in his memories: ” OL / AS Roma in 1/8 final of Europa League in 2017. An extraordinary game and an incredible scenario, the atmosphere in the stadium was just crazy. Coldplay’s 2017 concert, one of the most impressive I’ve seen! A great and very professional tour team.

For the future, he is confident that the public will return to the stadiums:” I think the hardest part is behind us. For me, vaccination is the only solution to resume our activity “normally”. A recovery to 80% of the gauge from September onwards seems quite feasible to me.

Apart from his job, Pierre – originally from Clermont – is ” a great fan of rugby and more particularly of the ASM Clermont Auvergne “, a sport he has played for more than 15 years. He is also passionate about nature and does ” a lot of hiking in the mountains, in the Mont Blanc massif “, says the man who shares the Stadium Management course with the Masters 2 students at INSEEC in Paris.

Quite a program, sporty!
