Beginning of master class cycles, total immersions in the world of sports for the students of MSc 2 Sports Marketing and Management of Chambéry Campus.

For this first meeting, the promotion had taken the direction of Switzerland. To meet the mythical club of the Geneva Servette Hockey Club, and its very known rink of the Vernets, which lights up every evening of match.

The students were welcomed by Guillaume Raboud, Head of Ticketing and Merchandising of the club, as well as by Arnaud Cogne, Head of Communication of the Geneva training. A flagship club of Swiss heritage for a sport that is king in this neighboring country!

Supervised by Thierry Jouzier, intervening in the programs INSEEC SPORT, the students have identified the general organization of the developing Swiss structure. At , next to the powerful field hockey club and in parallel with soccer (where the club has returned to the Swiss first division), a rugby structure is developing. The latter already has sixty first team players and three full-time employees. With ambitions in mind.

” More than field hockey ! “…, is one of the slogans of the Geneva club.

As proof, the total immersion in the Vernets ice rink, full to the brim on game nights, transforming itself into a real ” show “. To the delight of the 6,000 spectators who regularly attend.

From the locker rooms, to the dressing rooms… and to the ice !

” This immersion allows our students to become aware of the success of sports, but also of the organizational aspects of sports, which are perhaps less followed in France. Hockey in Geneva is a real provider of jobs and opportunities. They can also understand the different departments of such a club, which works very well”, presents Julian Dupraz, the INSEEC SPORT program manager.

The students also visited the backstage of the Swiss field hockey club : from the locker rooms (impressive !), to the press areas, and finally to all the lounges and rooms able to welcome the partners of the club.

” An example to follow “, said Cyril Leggeri, a student from the class of who is doing his work-study contract with the Annecy Hockey Club, on the other side of the border.

The master classes are also a way for our students, future full-time employees in sports structures, to be inspired by the best of what is done in the organization of sports management.
