SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is one of the most popular disciplines on the web. Taught in the training courses of the Digital Pole of the MSc & MBA INSEEC, this branch that Léa DOUMERC discovered during her MSc2 Digital Marketing & E-business on the Paris campus – ranked 6th in the “E-business” category at the Eduniversal’s 2020 ranking of the best Masters, MS and MBA programs, led her to her first job: SEO editor at Ornikar, an online driving school in which the school has been a partner since the beginning of the school year. Meet Léa, our Alumni from the class of 2020, who tells us more about her journey.

  • Can you introduce yourself and tell us about your academic background?

My name is Lea, I’m 23 years old and I’m currently an SEO web editor at Ornikar.

As far as my academic background is concerned, I first completed a Bachelor’s degree in tourism management at the ESC La Rochelle, and then turned to the world of marketing following an internship at MSC Cruises as a community manager. This bachelor’s degree also gave me the chance to do 6 months of Erasmus in Barcelona.

I then decided to deepen my knowledge of digital, and I am now a graduate of an MSc Digital Marketing & E-Business, done at INSEEC Msc & MBA Paris.

  • Can you explain your job and what you do at Ornikar? How did your education help you succeed in your position?

As an SEO web writer, I am in charge of writing, optimizing and publishing the content published on our website, and more specifically for the
Ornikar Insurance
. One of my main objectives is also to improve the positioning of the page “
Highway Code
“.

The goal is to create relevant content in order to increase our visibility on Google and subsequently convert new customers.

INSEEC gave me a solid knowledge of the digital marketing world, especially in terms of SEO, which helps me daily to carry out my missions.

Moreover, I discovered the field of web writing during my studies, thanks to various speakers and beautiful meetings. This course helped me to see more clearly what I really wanted to do, and I finally found the field of web writing that suits me perfectly.

  • What advice would you give to young graduates who are currently looking for their first job, or even an internship or work-study program?

I think that with motivation and rigor, you can achieve what you want. Given the current period, it is of course necessary to redouble our efforts but nothing is impossible.

It took me one and a half months to find my permanent job, after 144 applications. Some days are harder than others but the effort always pays off.

It is important to prepare a quality, concise CV and cover letter, and above all to apply regularly so as not to miss out on recent opportunities.

Finally, keep in mind not to accept just any job under the pretext that the situation is difficult: it is important to turn to a company with values similar to ours in order to be fulfilled on a daily basis.
