Currently Head of the MSc Human Resources Programs on the INSEECcampus  U. Chambéry since 2018, Juliette Ferlay accompanies students in the start of their professional career. Former HR at Club Med, she is passionate about teaching and transmission.

” With a Master’s degree in Private Law and a Master’s degree in Management of Service Companies from EM Lyon, I began my career at Club Med. I did my internship at the end of my studies, and then I progressed in this beautiful company. Until I became Human Resources Manager of the Commercial Business Unit France Benelux Switzerland .

The stage is set. Juliette is currently in charge of the MSc Human Resources programs.

” During my years with Club Med, I have supported the company’s strategy with employees, developed skills and managed careers, both in France and internationally. I accompanied the managers on the piloting and management of their teams. I have led the change, year after year, in order to achieve the strategic and business challenges of the company .

In 2016, Juliette decided to leave Club Med and Paris to settle in Savoie.

” I then decided to become a certified professional coach, and to create my own company, Azimut RH. I now offer training, coaching and HR consulting for companies and local authorities, mainly on HR processes, business strategy and management. I also intervene as a transitional HRD for several structures. “

At INSEEC U. Chambéry Campus since 2016

And here comes the teaching…

“I joined INSEEC Chambéry in 2017. First, I taught Bachelor and MSc 1 students. Then in 2018, David Bouvier, the director, informed me of his desire to open an MSc 1 HR. He entrusted me with the pedagogical responsibility. ”

Then the MSc 2, the year after.

” In this capacity, my role is to understand the expectations of companies in terms of skills, in order to define an appropriate educational program. I also recruit the different speakers, making sure to diversify the experiences, the postures and the approaches. Finally, I accompany students on a daily basis in their professional project, their vision of the HR world and their understanding of the profession. I also do tutoring in companies .

For a real daily challenge !

” Staying in touch with younger generations is very rewarding. We share our visions. I seek to understand their expectations of the job market. I explain to them the expectations of the companies. It’s a constant challenge! If only to capture and maintain the attention of the students during class. You have to be creative with your teaching all the time, and it’s exciting !”

At a time when some students are choosing to continue their studies, Juliette has some advice for those interested in Human Resources :

” Before being a profession requiring a certain technicality, it is above all a profession of relationship. The HR function is in constant contact with employees, managers, social partners, executive committees, etc. In addition, to perform its job properly, it is essential to understand the company’s strategic vision and the operational issues of each department. This is to be as close as possible to the reality of the field. ”

The MSc 1 and MSc 2 Human Resources programs at INSEEC U. Chambéry campus

The first year of the Master’s program is devoted to the fundamentals, in order to master the basics of the HR function. Then in the second year, I work on HR strategy.
In Chambéry, Juliette Ferlay chose to work mainly on the posture of HR manager, with all the technical aspects of the job in the background.
It offers to students to develop their soft skills, the spearhead of today’s recruitment (negotiation, change management, public speaking in particular).
